JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Asset Management sits within the Investments division, alongside Acquisitions and Portfolio Management, working closely with Operations to execute asset-level investment strategies across the business's residential sectors and deliver performance targets in line with the Business Plan. As a Senior Analyst within the team, you will take a lead analytical and advisory role supporting the Asset Manager in the day-to-day management of the assets, with greater autonomy, ownership of reporting integrity, and a proactive voice in shaping recommendations - while also supporting the wider team and other internal functions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Own the accuracy and integrity of key recurring reporting - portfolio performance, market comps and pricing, lender reporting, and budget-to-actuals reconciliation - ensuring all data shared with senior management, lenders and capital partners is fully reliable.
  • Go beyond maintaining reporting tools: proactively identify trends, risks and opportunities in portfolio performance data, and bring forward clear, well-supported recommendations to the Asset Manager and wider leadership.
  • Take ownership of, and help drive, strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects from initiation through to execution.
  • Build, maintain and continuously improve complex financial models to project detailed cash flows and forecast investment returns for asset management decision-making.
  • Lead the compilation of annual operational and capital budgets and business plans for senior management and capital partner review.
  • Prepare, and where appropriate present, materials for reporting to capital partners, representing the team directly and confidently with external stakeholders.
  • Monitor leasing performance and proactively propose rent and concession strategies in coordination with the commercial team.
  • Monitor and report on key market, industry and competitor data, flagging material shifts proactively.
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to improve reporting systems and data capture, actively proposing changes.
  • Support the onboarding, training and day-to-day guidance of junior team members as the team grows.
  • Complete various financial, accounting, narrative, administrative and other reports and analysis as assigned or necessary for the successful execution of the business plans.

Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • Degree qualification (or equivalent; GPA 3.3/4.0 or above, or equivalent) ideally in a related business or analytical subject such as finance, mathematics, economics, science, engineering or real estate.
  • CFA/MBA/relevant MSc qualifications are desirable.
  • IT literate and fully conversant with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Python, SQL or similar tools to automate reporting is a strong plus.
  • Comfortable using AI tools (e.g. Claude, Copilot) to support analysis and reporting efficiency.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English, written and verbal.

Experience & Skills:

  • At least 2 years of proven experience in an analytical role within asset management, investment banking, private equity or similar, with a track record of increasing ownership and responsibility.
  • Highly numerate, with strong attention to detail and advanced financial modelling, valuation and analysis skills.
  • A consistent track record of accurate, reliable financial reporting delivered under deadline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to translate data into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Proactive and accountable, taking ownership of outcomes and comfortable offering an independent view.
  • Experience building or improving reporting tools or dashboards, and supporting or mentoring junior colleagues, is a plus.

Important Notice: Greystar will never request your banking details or other sensitive personal information during the interview process. Greystar does not conduct any interviews via text or messaging, and all communication will come from official Greystar email addresses (@greystar.com).
