Greystar’s Office of the CIO was created to further Greystar’s goal of being a strategy-led organization that learns from our experience, data, and teams to make investment decisions that generate the best outcomes for our investors. The Office of the CIO is responsible for investment strategy formation, capital raising, and investment review and approval processes. The Associate, Office of the CIO, will report to the Senior Director, Office of the CIO, and have an immediate impact to the Office of the CIO Team. The Associate, Office of the CIO, will focus on company-wide initiatives including the launch of our Strategic Partners Program, and provide additional organizational and project support to the CIO as needed.


JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description:

  • Perform an array of tasks such as financial modeling, reviewing/drafting pitch decks, market research, benchmarking, attribution, and data analysis to make informed decisions.
  • Assist in creation and execution of investment strategies for each of Greystar’s managed capital ventures.
  • Work closely with Greystar’s largest partners to roll-out Strategic Partners program and assist with ongoing relationship management and capital raising initiatives.
  • Manage fund formation workstreams including initial financial modeling, term sheet proposals, and venture documentation/negotiation.
  • Provide expertise and project management for initiatives that are critical in meeting the organization’s strategic plan; and oversee successful execution of such initiatives under the guidance of the CIO and regional business leaders. This includes creating project plans, modeling financial and operational opportunities, quantifying financial impact and creating presentations to stakeholders that develop the “story” of the project.  
  • Assist and communicate with executives in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, handling inquiries and developing action plans to address them, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of communications.

Qualifications:

  • Four or more years of work experience in real estate finance, investment banking, or consulting.
  • A bachelor’s degree is required in finance, accounting, business, real estate, economics, or related field.
  • Attention to detail and strong creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-management skills.
  • Critical thinker and self-starter capable of accomplishing a task with limited guidance and supervision.

Compensation is based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

Corporate Positions: In addition to the base salary, may be eligible for an annual performance bonus that is based on individual and company performance.

Onsite Property Positions: In addition to the base salary, may be eligible for a discretionary weekly, monthly and/or quarterly bonus based on budget.
