JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Come join the team at our newest Student Accommodation site in Canberra! Be a part of helping foster an inclusive and thriving community for our residents.

As the Wellbeing & Events Manager, you will play a central role in shaping an exceptional student living experience. You’ll design and deliver a vibrant calendar of social, educational, and wellbeing programs while also overseeing our Community Assistants - ensuring they are well-supported, scheduled effectively, and empowered to deliver outstanding service across the property.

Working closely with the Community Manager and onsite teams, you’ll foster an inclusive and engaged residential community, build strong relationships with local partners, and ensure students feel supported, connected, and safe throughout their stay. Your work will directly contribute to resident satisfaction, engagement, and retention.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and delivery of inclusive, high-quality events and wellbeing programs that reflect resident needs and enhance community life.

  • Oversee, schedule, and guide Community Assistants, ensuring strong coverage across front-of-house, events, and operational support.

  • Manage full event logistics end-to-end; including planning, risk assessments, vendor coordination, budgeting, delivery, and evaluation.

  • Build partnerships with local businesses, universities, and community organisations to expand resident experience and wellbeing support.

  • Ensure compliance with WHS, incident management, and operational policies while capturing content and insights to support marketing and reporting.

About You:

You’re an energetic, people-focused professional with experience in events, hospitality, community engagement, or student accommodation. You excel in fast-paced environments, balancing creativity with strong organisation and operational discipline. You’re confident communicating with diverse audiences, empathetic when supporting residents, and proactive in solving problems. You enjoy mentoring casual staff, fostering a positive team culture, and ensuring the highest level of service delivery. Adaptable and tech-savvy, you’re comfortable using scheduling tools, CRM/EDM systems, and platforms like StarRez. Above all, you’re passionate about creating meaningful experiences that help students feel welcomed, supported, and at home.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid driver’s licence and be eligible for a National Criminal History Check and Working With Children Check.

  • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends to support events and resident activities as required.
